In this talk, I assume the following thesis, SYNGET : Generalized evolutionary theory (GET) can be synthesized in such a way, that makes microevolutionary transmission and macroevolutionary population structure explanatory transferable into each other – similar as it was achieved for the theory of biological evolution during the “modern synthesis”. I will present a formal framework, that makes use of graph theory and game theory and show how both can yield such a unifying explanation. In order to do so, I will introduce two new games: the “Prisoner’s Network” and the “Signaling Network”, where variation, selection and reproduction of interactive strategies leads to different amounts of cohesion in social networks and density in population structure. It is assumed that cultural evolution will most likely select those grouping, that yield a higher inner amount of cohesion.



Karim Baraghith studied philosophy, history and biology. He is a PhD student and research assistant at the Düsseldorf Center for Logic and Philosophy of Science (DCLPS). His main research interests are in the field of generalized evolutionary theory, cultural evolution, philosophy of biology and of the special sciences.
