Doctoral Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities
After B.A. and M.A., the third stage of studies is dedicated to acquiring a special scientific qualification – a doctorate. This stage has also been re-structured by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The most important new feature is the possibility to undertake a doctorate with a binding minimum standard. In addition to traditional support and monitoring by a doctoral supervisor, assistance and a teaching curriculum are offered which facilitate greater exchange with other university teachers and between doctoral researchers.
Routes to a doctorate
The Doctoral Degree and Study Regulations govern admission to the doctoral examination procedure and doctoral studies for all doctoral researchers at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Further information can be found under individual doctorate. In addition, more structured doctoral studies are possible through membership of the Faculty’s Graduate Academy.
Information about the Academy can be found under philGRAD. There are also Research Training Groups for specific research topics.
